I love photography! I believe it shows in my images and I strive to bring you the images that you will enjoy for a lifetime.
My whole life I have loved taking images and now I have the opportunity to bring my art to you and to share my skills making the images you dream of.
Living on the central coast of California provides me an abundance of nature and scenic beauty to capture.
As a photo hobbyist, I have always dreamed of doing it full time and now I am able to have a late life career to carry me through my retirement. The tough part of this all is I have to spend hundreds of hours each year outside, in nature, observing all the beauty that surrounds us daily. Whether at sea looking for marine mammals, always looking up to find those elusive birds that are so camera shy, or out on a late night walk about capturing the world you see as dark but I see so much magic in the available light with long exposure photography (and sometimes a flashlight ).
Besides wildlife, nature, scenic and night photography I really enjoy covering events. Whether its a live performance, street fair, sporting event or civic event, I have created HKP Media to cover these for you. I cover the annual AMGEN Tour of California each year as a photojournalist and this has given me the opportunity to see so much of this state I have lived in for 60 years and never visited.
I am so truly blessed to love photography and to share this love with you. My life is a vacation and occasionally I make a little money to help pay for it all.
